Before attempting this exercise, review the following information about ethos, pathos, and logos:
Then . . . find an article or editorial on a website or a YouTube video (could be a copy of an infomercial or TV commercial) that is trying to persuade the viewer to buy something, vote for someone, support a cause, donate money, lose weight, eat healthy food, stay off drugs, etc.
Write a brief (400-600 word) analysis of how the video uses ethos, pathos, and logos (note: although one rhetorical device may be used more than the other two, be sure to find instances of all three).
Send your analysis (along with a link to the website or video you are discussing) to this conference, then review and comment upon at least 3 of your classmates' analyses.
NOTE: In your initial response to the discussion prompt, be sure to include specific references to what you learned in the articles; responses that do not include references to the articles will not be accepted for credit.
