Project #63645 - Literature 101

I chose Hercules. My classmates are working on the older versions of hercules. I need to cover the Disney version (1997). And,  I need to cover the 3D action version (Hercules, 2014) as well. Demonstrate a comparison between the two and highlight the main events that occurred.

I also need work on the cultural background and this should include a Brief discussion of whether or not the figure/place/event is known in different cultures

This is  a GROUP POWER POINT PRESENTATION, so I only need information on my part which is listed above on HERCULES.

Group Project

The project is to create a PowerPoint presentation (or other multimedia presentation) on a legendary figure or event from world literature (1600 CE or earlier). All groups' presentations should include the following slides (at least one slide for each, though expansion is fine if there is lots to cover!):

  1. Title slide
  2. Basic introduction to the event, place, or figure as he/she/it appears in legend; a focused statement on why this event, place, or figure is interesting and important as a cultural phenomenon (look on this as a sort of "thesis" for the project)
  3. Brief discussion of whether or not the figure/place/event is known in different cultures
  4. Overview of the major versions of the legend (pre-1600, post-1600, and modern): what authors are known for writing versions of the story in which the event, place, or figure is found? Are there any other major artistic works (paintings, murals, operas, symphonies) related to the event, place or figure? How this figure, place, or event has survived into modern times or not—are there modern (19th, 20th, 21st century) re-workings of the story? This should probably be 3 or more slides long; exact length will depend on the topic. It's not a bad idea to have different group members tackling different periods.
  5. Conclusion
  6. MLA Works Cited List and Bibliography of Works Consulted (if anyone used works for basic information that they did not cite)

Note that all writing on the slides should be original; the projects will be run through Turnitin upon submission, and all distinctive matching information caught by Turnitin should be formatted as a quotation. DO NOT copy-paste material without immediately marking it as a quotation and citing it. Any multimedia (art, music) inserted or linked in the forum should also include full bibliographic information.

If necessary, individuals may complete a solo project; if you think you need to do this, please contact the instructor as soon as possible.
