Project #51928 - Health current event article

For this assignment you will in essence write a short paper (1-2 pages), post it for the class and provide a link to the article(s), answer any questions your classmates may have about the article(s), and lead the class discussion about your article(s).You can look at the rubric below to see how your assignment will be graded. You should: summarize the article(s), discuss the key points as it pertains to health, relate it to topics covered in class, discuss how the information could be used, and evaluate the source of the article.

Ideally we  would  have a few people presenting  on topics that relates to each of the chapters that we cover that way we are exposed to more information. To make it more meaningful to you, you will be allowed to choose a topic that you want to learn more about. As long as it relates somehow to health it is a valid choice of subjects. Once your assignment is complete you will then go to the Current Event Article Reviews discussion. I will create topic discussions by the chapter. So if for example your article review relates to fitness, you would then go to the Current Event Discussion and click on my topic called "fitness" and post a reply that includes your article review. Make sure your title to your post makes it clear to your classmates what the topic is. Post your paper there. You can do it as an attachment and also make sure you include the article or a link to the article. Now you are the presenter in the forum that relates to your article. Remember that part of your grade is derived from the class discussion so be sure to check in and ask questions of your classmates, answer questions, and get them thinking and talking about your article!

Article reviews should be uploaded to this location for grading and also posted in the Current Event Discussion for your classmates by the end of the week we are discussing that topic.

Example: In week 8 we are discussing alcohol and tobacco. So anyone who would like to do their current event on something related to those topics should post to the Current Events Discussion by the end of Week 8. (Sunday 11:59 P.M.)
