# Project #43142 - Group project

In groups of 2-3 students, pick a topic on something relevant in your professional or personal life. Please review the attached article by Professor Robert Wardop of the University of Wisconsin-Madison for some great ideas. Submit your idea to the Instructor prior by the beginning of Week 6. Write a 3-5 page paper using the following criteria. Create a wiki to present your process and findings.

http://www.stat.wisc.edu/~wardrop/papers/tmoore.pdf

Article Analysis Criteria:

1. Describe the sample you would use to collect data from

2. Describe the types of charts you would be using once data has been collected

3. Describe the process of reliability and validity that you would introduce as part of your project

4. Provide the level of signifiance you would introduce to test

5. Describe how you would find the mean, median, mode, and standard deviation

6. Describe what your degree of freedom would be based on the number of participants you have selected (n-1). For example if my sample was 30, my degree of freedom would be 28.

7. Describe what percentage you would be comfortable with away from the mean that you would get from calculating your z-score. (ex. +1, +2, +3, -1, -2, -3).

8. Set up a non-directional and null hypotheis for your project. (ex. If I have a sample of 30, my first sample would be 15 and my second sample would be 15, My non-directional hypothesis would be that my first sample of 15 is not equal to my second sample of 15 and my null hypothesis would be that they are equal).

9. What other types of statistical analysis techniques would you like to test (ex. ANOVA, correlation, Chi-square, linear regression) and why?

10. Do you anticipate any limitations with your proposed project?
