# Project #18902 - Statistics Help

The attached data is for Single Family Home sales in 3 areas (*and *
and *) for the period of January 1, 2012 and April 19, 2012. The data consists of
the sales price and the square footage of each home sold. Use this data to answer the following
questions. SHOW ALL YOUR WORK! Answers without supporting work will be considered
incorrect.

All graphs are to be labeled with x-axis minimum and maximum and y-axis minimum and
maximum clearly labeled. All answers are to be clearly marked; i.e circled, highlighted or Bold.

1. What is the mean sales price for a home in Hamilton Township?
2. What is the median sales price for home in Galloway Township?
3. Calculate the “price/square foot” for each home sold. (Hint: Create additional columns in the
table.)
4. Calculate the mean “price per square foot” for each area.
5. Calculate the standard deviation and the confidence interval for the means in #4. Use a level
of significance of 0.05.
6. Find the correlation coefficient between the sold price and square footage for each area and
test the significance of the correlation. Use a level of significance of 0.05.
7. For each area that has a significant correlation in #6, find the equation for the regression line.
Make a scatter plot of the data and draw the regression line on the plot. (ONLY for data with
significant correlation! Additional plots will be marked incorrect.
8. Use ANOVA to test the claim that there is no difference among the means of the sales price
for each area. What is your conclusion?
9. If the null hypothesis is rejected in #8, which test would you use to identify where the
significant differences in the means lie? Why? (Do Not do these calculations, simply answer the
questions.)
