**EXAMPLE** There is a model of identifying Rosetta Stone, for instance. Not necessarily with the same words, but providing the same information: The Rosetta Stone is an ancient Egyptian stele, inscribed with a decree of King Ptolemy, issued at Memphis in 196 BC. The decree appears in three scripts: the upper text is Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, the middle portion Demotic script, and the lowest Ancient Greek. Because it presents essentially the same text in all three scripts, the stone became the key for deciphering the Egyptian hieroglyphs. Found in the 1799 by Napoleon’s army, the stele was studied by the French linguist Jean-Francois Champoliion for more than 20 years. By 1822, Champollion was able to decode the part written in Egyptian hieroglyphs by relating the widely known at this time Greek letters to the Egyptian hieroglyphs in the cartouches ( an ornamental and symbolic frame reserved for the names of the Egyptian rulers) of Ptolemy and Cleopatra. The deciphering of Rosetta stone became thus a major step in studying the history of Ancient Egypt and a metaphor in the process of decoding encrypted information.
